1 Skirt Styled 5 Ways For Disney

Let’s face it. Disney, in general, can be very expensive. The park tickets, snacks, and merchandise can all break the bank. That’s why when it comes to Disney fashion, it’s important to find ways to save money.

I know that is seems like all your fave style icons on Instagram never wear the same thing twice and always have a new look, but for most of us, that’s not very realistic. Thankfully there’s a way to keep up your Disney style game all while sticking to a budget. The main way is by restyling certain pieces of your wardrobe.

Two of my friends, Megan and Heather, decided to create the hashtag #minimalistdisneystyle on Instagram for those of us who choose to restyle different outfit pieces. Megan also created a blog post that talks more about the creation of the hashtag and features different Disney Instagrammers (including yours truly) who restyled outfit pieces for Disney looks. You can you read her blog post here.

While some people may see wearing the same outfit as a bad thing… AKA Kate Sanders.

I view restyling a piece or outfit as a style challenge! Not only is my wallet happier, but I love seeing the creativity in restyling a look.

So today I wanted to share with you how I took one skirt and styled it five different ways. I love this Green Skater Skirt so much because it adds such a fun pop of color to any outfit! For only $15, it’s an affordable piece to have in your wardrobe to mix and match for different Disney outfits. So here are 5 ways to rock the skirt!

1. Grim Grinning Ghosts

Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize… I can’t not sing that phrase when I read it! I love this look so much because I’m obsessed with the Haunted Mansion. Haunted Mansion is one of my all-time favorite rides at Magic Kingdom, and it’s also a great areas to take pictures!

This shirt from is absolutely perfect for a spooky Disney outfit. By pairing it with the matching green skirt, you’re able to get a completely haunted look! This outfit is also a great outfit to wear for a Disney Halloween event, like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

2. Dapper Buzz Lightyear

For this next look, I want to channel one of my favorite Toy Story characters: Buzz Lightyear. I wanted this outfit to be a simple, yet elegant version of Buzz Lightyear. The green skirt adds that pop of green that our space ranger is known for. By pairing it with a white shirt that I already had, I was able to save even more money. I bought this purple bandana scarf from Amazon to complete my Buzz Lightyear Disneybound outfit. So, basically, since I already had the skirt and shirt, for the price of the scarf I had a completely new outfit! That’s what #minimalistdisneystyle is all about.

3. Green Alien

I remember planning this Green Alien outfit for the Toy Story Land grand opening at Hollywood Studios. At the time, I already had this sequin blue top that I had worn for a Snow White outfit (that you can see here). So this was when I first decided to invest in this neon green skater skirt, and I’m so glad I did! To complete a green alien disneybound outfit, all you need is a green alien accessory. Here are a few that you can purchase:

5. To Infinity and Beyond

Can you really have too many cute Toy Story-inspired outfits? My answer is no. If you invest in this green skater skirt, you can have a new outfit by simply adding a new t-shirt! That is exactly what I did for this last Buzz Lightyear outfit. This shirt from Downtown and Daycare was way too adorable to not pair with the green skirt.
