The Best Candy at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

One of my favorite parts of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is being fully immersed into the wizarding world. From the fire-breathing dragon to riding the Hogwarts Express, you feel like you’ve jumped into Harry Potter’s universe. But the wizarding experience wouldn’t be complete without our favorite magical treats.

Stroll through Honeydukes, Sugarplums Sweet Shop, and Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes, and you’ll find plenty of candy that we read about in the Harry Potter books and watched in the movies.

“A bag of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans. “You want to be careful with those,” Ron warned Harry. “When they say every flavor, they mean every flavor – you know, you get all the ordinary ones like chocolate and peppermint and marmalade, but then you can get spinach and liver and tripe. George reckons he had a booger-flavored one once.”

I was a little overwhelmed (in a good way) when I first walked through the doors of Honeydukes and saw the shelves filled with so much candy! Because the candy can be pricey, it’s best to narrow it down to a few candies to try. If you’re looking for the best candy at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, take a look at the ranking of my 5 favorite sweet treats!

5. Sherbet Lemons

Of course I HAD to try Dumbledore’s favorite candy: Sherbet Lemons. These lemon-flavored hard candies are more sweet than they are tarte and are completely delicious! I think this treat is a good purchase because they last so long; however, they are last on my list of favorites because they are basically just regular lemon drops.

4. Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans

I really struggled with where to rank this classic wizarding treat. I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing them once, if only for the experience. My friends and I did a blind taste test with the jelly beans, and while it was mildly traumatizing getting flavors like vomit and earthworm, it was still a BLAST! I would rank Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans higher for the experience, but seeing as how I refused to eat half of the bag since they were gross flavors, it got bumped down to #4 on my list.

3. Fainting Fancies

These sweet treats are found at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, among other illness-inducing snacks. The Skiving Snackbox that we read about in the books and saw in the movies is available for purchase and includes Fainting Fancies, Fever Fudge, Nosebleed Nougats, and Puking Pastilles. While I wanted to purchase the entire box, its price tag of around $40 is a bit too steep for me. So you can purchase each candy separately for under $10. The Fainting Fancies were my favorite out of the other candies and are orange & lemon flavored gummies that are sprinkled with sugar. And while I didn’t faint after eating them, they were completely delicious!

2. Chocolate Frog

A chocolate frog is hands down the most memorable candy from the Harry Potter series and was my very first purchase at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I was so excited to try the candy as well as see which famous witch or wizard was on the card inside. I was a little disappointed when I got Helga Hufflepuff (since I’m a Slytherin), but loved the card nonetheless. The reason why it isn’t at the top of my list is because of the chocolate. While the chocolate was decent, it’s just a solid block of hard chocolate. It’s very hard to even bite into. I still recommend purchasing one, but I don’t plan on buying another.

1. Fizzing Whizzbees

The #1 best candy at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the Fizzing Whizzbees! I don’t know why it took me so long to try them, but I only purchased them on my most recent trip and I AM IN LOVE!! These bee-shaped chocolates have fruity pop rocks inside that add that fizzy kick! Not only is the chocolate absolutely delicious, but the pop rocks were so much fun. I literally cannot say enough good things about this candy and plan on purchasing Fizzing Whizzbees again.

There you have my top 5 favorite candies from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Which is your favorite magical treat?

Until next time,

Xo, Chelsey
