The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival has quickly become one of my favorite festivals! Throughout Epcot you can find colorful flowers, topiaries in the shape of your favorite Disney characters, and even a butterfly garden! You can watch my YouTube video of the festival, including my experience at the butterfly garden, here!
Although I LOVE the beautiful scenery, it wouldn’t be a festival without the food and drinks! On my last blog post, I reviewed and ranked all of the drinks I tried at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. And while I enjoyed all of the drinks I tried, I CANNOT say the same about the food! This was my first year at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, so I had absolutely no direction about the food options.
While most of the food I tried was delicious, some items were absolutely TERRIBLE!! In order to help you decide which food items to try (and which to avoid!), I’ve decided to make a best and worst foods list, along with reviews, of what I tried from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. I hope this helps you on your next trip to the fest!
WORST: Vegetable Spring Rolls
– Lotus House- $4.50
Let’s start with the absolute worst food from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, the vegetable spring rolls! I really wanted to like these, and like most of you, I figured how could you go wrong with spring rolls? Well let me just say… you can! I couldn’t even finish eating them! These vegetable spring rolls from the Lotus House were extremely bland. The little flavor it did manage to have, was terribly off-putting. The ONLY redeeming part of the spring rolls were their crispiness… and that’s about it! In no way, shape, or form do I recommend these!!! As you can tell, I feel very SALTY about these spring rolls, which is ironic since they had no flavor.
WORST: Field Greens
-The Berry Basket- $5.00
I was SO excited about the potential of the Field Greens Salad at the Berry Booth. Since most park foods tend to be heavy, I was really looking forward to having a light and healthy berry salad. I mean, the description sounded amazing… strawberries, pecans, and a raspberry vinaigrette. Sadly, it was a DISASTER! If you carefully observe the picture of my salad, I think you’ll come to the same conclusion I did… they left off the pecans and raspberry vinaigrette!!! If only I had realized this before I started eating it, but unfortunately, I ended up eating my extremely bland “salad” composed of spinach, zero dressing and zero flavor. So, if you decide to take a gamble and order the Field Greens from the Berry Booth, let’s hope they make it right! MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!!
BEST: Lemon Scone
–Cider House- $4.25
While a lemon scone is nothing life-changing, this one from the Cider House is definitely a good choice from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. What makes this lemon scone unique, is the icing drizzled on top, along with the mixed berries! This scone was delicious as well as gluten-free, for those of you with a gluten allergy! While I do wish the scone itself was a little sweeter, I still definitely recommend!
-HanamI Booth- $5.95
I’ll admit that I was extremely hesitant to jump on the Frushi bandwagon! When I first heard of it, fruit and sushi just didn’t sound like a good combination. To be honest, I didn’t understand what it was! If you’re one of those people who are wondering the same, Frushi is composed of pinneaple, strawberries, and melons wrapped in coconut rice. It’s served with whipped cream and a raspberry drizzle. When I finally mustered up enough courage to try the infamous Frushi, I absolutely loved it! It was refreshingly light and sweet, and by no means tasted like sushi! So if you’ve been hesitant to try it, you should definitely go try the Frushi from the Hanami Booth! You’ll probably end up joining the rest of us Frushi-obssessed people!
BEST: Roasted Cauliflower
-Honey Bee-stro Booth- $4.50
The Roasted Cauliflower dish, found at the Honey Bee-stro Booth, is one of the most interesting and complex dishes that I’ve ever tried at any of the Epcot festivals! This vegetarian and gluten-free dish, can be enjoyed by most park-goers and has one of the best portion sizes of any booth snack. The Roasted Cauliflower is a mixture of wild rice, asparagus, and cauliflower that also features a honey carrot puree as well as a honey sunflower seed brittle! This creative brittle was my favorite part of the dish, adding a sweetness and crunchiness that perfectly complimented the vegetables and rice. I HIGHLY recommend trying this dish, if only for the sunflower seed brittle!
THE ABSOLUTE BEST: Fried Cauliflower
– Taste of Marrakesh Booth- $5.00
The Fried Cauliflower was by far my #1 FAVORITE DISH from the Flower and Garden Festival! The fried cauliflower is accentuated by capers, garlic parsley, and a chili-ranch sauce (and believe me, it’s even more delicious than it sounds!). Even if you aren’t the biggest fan of cauliflower, I truly believe you will enjoy this dish. It had such amazing flavor with just the right hint of spice to it, and the sauce was creamy and delicious, creating a very nice balance. I cannot recommend this dish enough! While at the festival, I convinced my friends to try it and every single one of them loved it! So go and try the Fried Cauliflower!
So there you have it! The best and worst dishes that I tried from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. Hopefully this list will help you avoid some bad dishes as well as find some good ones to try! Let me know if you agree with the reviews, or if you have any other recommendations for me to try at the fest!
Thank you so much for reading and until next time, my friends!
