I don’t know about you, but I can never have enough Potter merch (or merch in general). However, I do get a little sad when bands, sites and stores are selling the same stuff they sold the previous summer. This happens often in non-movie years and non-touring seasons.
After a recent week of concerts in the NYC area, I was pleasantly surprised to see all of the new merch and new independent sellers that are joining the already overflowing Potter merch tables this summer. I decided to purchase what I could while it was still available (i.e. before the tours got started and the cons were here) and so can you. And you might not even have to make it to ‘Frisco to do it.
TRL, Whompy, & Pottercast Merch
The HARRY PoTOUR has been travelling across America since early June. Although Harry and the Potters were only along for the ride for a few dates early on, the tour continues strong with Pottercast, The Whomping Willows, and The Remus Lupins. While Whompy is selling his new CD and his always popular classic merch, the PC crew and TRL have some new samplings for you Potterheads out there.
Get your CDs, posters, and shirts at one of the tour’s remaining dates. The tour will also be around for both Azkatraz and the famous San Diego Comic Con.
New Independent Merch Sellers
Two new independent sellers have made their debut recently, with rising sales at both Leakycon and in the NY area.
Random Acts of Craft is a jewelry and curios entry by Ariel Birdoff, better known as Wizard Rock People’s Choice Award Winner for Best New Artist Madam Pince and the Librarians. Find her goodies at her Etsy or at a NY area wrockshow near you. In addition, look for area seller Valentina (of the sensational Valentinaphoto blogs) and her shirts and tote bags.
As a final note, since I know so many of you love the popular t-shirt site Threadless, a friend of mine recently has a new shirt up that needs your votes! It’s called “Fitting In” and I think it’s adorable. Please go vote on it!
