They aren't the best written but boy are they brain candy. As you are a fashionista, I would advise ignoring some of Sookie's wardrobe descriptions...they can be vomit inducing. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. It is the BEST vampire fiction series I have ever read. No other author has come close to Hamilton's characters, plot or style. You should also read Jeanette Walls' The Glass Castle' and 'Dish.'
